Sleeping in Xi'An

This was our hostel in Xi'An. It's true that we all have this idea of what a hostel is-not clean, run-down, places where bums stay... But it's not really. My parents were pleasantly surprised that it looked and acted like a hotel, but was so much more cheaper! This bed that we slept on is called a "kong". It's a typical bed for the Chinese and in the winter they light a fire underneath it to heat the underneath and keep you warm. The whole family would sleep on it. This bed could fit at least five people on it. Mom and Dad thought the bed was too hard, but I loved it!
